Over the semester, I have scheduled numerous appointments with the subject librarians at Thompson Rivers University. Specifically for this research assignment, I met with the Historian Librarian Brenda Smith and the Education Librarian Kathy Gaynor.
In order to help me find my primary and secondary sources, I visited the TRU library homepage. To further my search, the librarians showed me how to search the databases and suggested I used the ERIC: Educational Resources Information Center database.
For anyone who is interested in conducting research, I would highly recommend booking an appointment with one of the librarians at TRU. From my experience this semester, they are extremely friendly and are excited to help anyone who may need it!
For those who are thinking about taking a class with Dr. Tracy Penny Light, or are wondering what she expects in her assignments I suggest reviewing her rubric on “How to Get a Really Good Mark on Your Paper”. It is helpful in explaining exactly what she expects from her students including, but not limited to, the overall impression of the paper, the argument, and citations.
